‘GLASTO’ DREAM COME TRUE

One Bomb
One Bomb

A Heage man will be fulfilling a long-held ambition this weekend when he plays on the BBC Introducing Stage at the world-famous Glastonbury Festival.

Paul Froggatt, 30, who works under the name of Shookz, and Derby-based Si Tew are members of One Bomb, a live electronic dance act who are enjoying a year to remember.
Over the past few months, One Bomb have been featured on the BBC Radio 1 daytime playlist with two tracks: Good Times Roll feat Georgia Copeland, and Take Over feat Aja & Jackdalad (Matches UK Garage Remix).
They also got asked to do the official remix for this year’s UK Eurovision Contest entry Molly, which then got the nod of approval from Warner Records.
Now, the next stage on their musical journey sees them play the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury. They will be appearing on Saturday from 3.45pm.
One Bomb describe themselves as ‘an originally crafted electronic dance duo who push the boundaries of live performance and musical innovation’, and ‘a diverse and creative dance act, providing listeners with an eclectic fusion of house, garage and bass to create futuristic harmonies and awe-inspiring sounds.’
Their star is clearly rising in the music industry and 2014 has seen One Bomb’s reputation steadily gathering momentum.
Paul, a former pupil of Swanwick Hall School, explained: “We had a BBC Introducing Masterclass in 2013, plus the Radio 1Xtra playlisting, and that’s led on this year to the Radio One daytime playlisting, the Eurovision remix and now this. It’s been an awesome year so far, with one good thing after another, and this is the biggest yet.
“We’ve not actually been to Glastonbury before!
“We both always said we’d only go when we could play it, but you always wonder if it will happen.”

“We split our time between the East Midlands and London and it’s going well for us. The news about Glastonbury was announced live on the Huw Stephens Radio One show, which was a great moment for us.
“We’ve been at it for about ten years as One Bomb and it’s been a natural progression over that time until we’ve got to the stage now where it’s really coming together nationally for us.
“Me and Si are both producers in our own right and I’ve been working under the Shookz name for 15 years now.
“It’s going to be a great experience, but we’ve got a lot to do before then. For example, we had three DJ sets and one live show last weekend so we’ve been too busy to worry about it too much!”
The duo have been perfecting their live performance thanks to the inclusion of Georgia Copeland (Vocals), Wreh-Asha (Vocals), Acer (Vocals), Greg Rawson (Percussion), Beth Frisby (Violin, Vocals) and Urban Projections (Visuals). One Bomb Live has become the platform for the 360 One Bomb experience, allowing the dance act to showcase their high energy performance on any stage, setting them up perfectly for the festival season.
With the duo going from strength to strength, One Bomb look set to explode into the mainstream.
